Smyser students are working diligently during the last week of Quarter 2. As we are winding down, I've been asking students to reflect on the successes and challenges so far this year. 3rd - 8th grade students have been finishing up a number of projects. 3rd grade artists are finishing their Pablo Picasso inspired Cubism portraits. 4th grade artists are working on observation drawings, proportion, and learning about still-life artworks and watercolor and pencil blending techniques. 5th grade students have been using rulers to measure out and create Mathematical Snow Crystal Designs inspired by snow scientists Wilson Bentley and Kenneth Libbrecht.
Mind, Body, and He-Art! Club members have been learning about underwater sea creatures and habitats. They will learn some new painting techniques this week!
The upper grade artists have successfully finished their Manga inspired Comic Book Panel Storyboards and Layered Manga Sequence Drawings. They are currently finishing up some amazingly neat and intricate 1-Point Perspective Cityscapes. Check some of them out during the Art Exhibit! (more information below)
6-8th GRADE ART EXHIBIT WALKTHROUGH: This Art Exhibit will take place in the Main Building Cafeteria from 1:40-3:40 p.m. on both Wednesday February 30th, and Thursday February 31st.
